East Coast Dates Announced (Durban & South Coast)

Hey friends, Happy New Year from the Cape Peninsula! I hope you had an amazing start to 2024 and that this year brings with it peace, love and joy.

Last year was a real adventure, releasing 'Don't Die in the Bundu', on Bella Union, performing the most special venues and heading out to the the UK for the very first time in September for a couple Bella Union shows with fellow label-mates Colouring & War Violet. It makes me so happy to see this record taking on a life of it's own in the world and in people's lives.

I'm glad and grateful to say there are good things unfolding this year, but for now I'd like to tell you about a few shows I'll be doing up the east coast in January, kicking off with a one-night-only in Durban (Jan 19 - St.Clements). Then two more dates announced in my hometown- Ramsgate (Jan 25 - Teahouse of the Blue Lagoon) and Umzumbe (Jan 27 - Mantis & Moon).

Love & Blessings x
Wren

News from the Road (plus exclusive Cape Town show announcement)

Hello beautiful humans! I'm back home in Cape Town after two sold-out Bella Union shows in the UK last month where I performed alongside label-mates War Violet and Colouring. We took the show to The Folklore Rooms in Brighton where I found myself trapped behind a secret bookshelf door mere minutes before taking to the stage. Brighton is such a gem of a place and I'm so glad I had plenty of time to explore this beautiful seaside city loaded with record stores and art galleries- my feet are still on the mend from all the walking. I also dropped by Bella Union Vinyl Shop to sign some records after the Brighton show, hit them up if you’d like a signed copy.

The second show went down in Soho, London. Hosted by The Society of the Golden Slippers nestled within the old walls of an unmarked building known as Blacks Club. A showcase that has in the past featured artists such as The Civil Wars, Liz Fraser, John Grant,
Lisa Marie Presley, Michael Kiwanuka, KT Tunstall and Billie Marten to name a few,
I feel so honoured to have been part of the lineup with my Bella Union family.

We've got some exciting things unfolding in 2024, but for now I'd love to tell you about my Cape Town show this summer. On December 12th I'll be performing songs from the new record, 'Don't Die in the Bundu' in a gorgeous intimate setting at Café Roux. Tickets available here.

My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to you for sharing this ever-evolving journey with me, it's such a ride and I couldn't imagine doing it without you.

Big love as always xx

New Album Announcement

'Don't Die In The Bundu', the fourth studio album is out on Bella Union
July 21st!

In celebration of July's release, the first single, 'Dream State' is out today, everywhere!

In many ways, I can't help but feel this is one of my most significant offerings yet, and it brings me great joy to finally hand this body of work over to you, my friends and wellwishers!

The title alone has been in the back of my mind for a few years,  and I guess it was a culmination of experiences and initiations I had to go through to fully realize the title- 'Don't Die In The Bundu'.

This record was conceived amidst the backdrop of global lockdowns, curfews, tumultuous weather and uprisings, a record deal, a publishing deal, coupled with the promise of new life through the conception, pregnancy and birth of my son, River, who made his appearance on a stormy morning in the very same timber cabin the album was recorded in! And the same cabin in which I came head to head with a mighty, golden Cape Cobra, forever imprinted in my minds eye.

Among these experiences, and when my son was around 6 months old, I was out doing the official album photo shoot with a dear friend, and during this shoot we had an encounter with two gun wielding masked bandits, the ordeal ended with an ominous  fully clothed wade into the freezing Cape winter ocean which the bandits used as their escape- my friends great negotiating skills allowed us to keep the memory card in which the photos were stored, so the shots all carry the mood leading up to that fateful encounter. It took a good few months before I actually processed what had happened, I felt close to death that night in June, it could've turned out very differently, but it did help me settle on the title.

This also happens to be my first official @bella_union release since signing with the UK label in 2021- and its been amazing to have a team of really wonderful humans who believe in what I do, helping out with so many aspects of my career and this release.

It's quite astonishing at just how much can happen in such a short timeframe which makes me curious and inspired about the future.

Big love, as always to you all xx

'A Thousand Hearts' - Bella Union Vinyl Release (Out 25th November)

Wren Hinds will release his second album “A Thousand Hearts” on vinyl via Bella Union Private Pressing on November 25th.

Relocated from Durban to Simon’s Town, Cape Town, Wren Hinds recorded his second album in 2018. A small-town kind in a big city, he channelled his sense of displacement into a fluent range of songs, linked by a feeling for place and space. Drawn from a poem by his uncle Keith Erasmus, the lovelorn waltz of ‘Sadness in the Wind’ is a beatific stand-out, Wren evoking Karen Dalton in his wavering, multi-tracked voice. Elsewhere, an ear for layered details and discreet tonal shifts asserts itself. On ‘Run’, a piano and a finger-picked guitar share mutually supportive space. On ‘Lights’, the guitar displays just a hint of swagger. Meanwhile, also drawing on Erasmus’s poetry, the title-track’s wonky ballroom lament sums up the album at a soothing stroke: “There’s beauty in the sadness, and there’s beauty in the pain/ And in the melancholic madness and its bittersweet refrain.” Wherever you listen, essentially.

Wren Hinds comments that… “A Thousand Hearts is a body of work that is very dear to me, it’s an album that embraces the age old tale of a small town kid in the big city, set within the walls of an unpredictable and volatile country. I am immensely grateful and overjoyed for this record to have found the most perfect home with Bella Union”

Hailing from the South-east coast of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa, Wren Hinds grew up with a musician for a father and a landscape painter for a mother. As a kid, watching his dad recording and overdubbing inspired Wren to keep a tape recorder with him, recording whatever and wherever he could. Later, he would compare the layering of instruments and textures to the mediums and paints of his mother’s chosen artform. For Wren, songwriting became “painting with sound”, using light, shade and a sense of space to communicate powerful impressions and feelings.

Wren brought this schooling to gorgeous fruition across his first three albums, initially available on Bandcamp and now released on vinyl through Bella Union Private Pressings. Made with an eco-friendly manufacturing company, each record will be available as a special edition limited to 200 copies, available through mail order and the Bella Union store. Either way, the trilogy plots the growth curve of a major talent, released in readiness for the now Bella Union-signed artist’s incoming fourth album.

Bella Union

Around 2012 I stumbled upon a compilation titled 'White Winter Hymnals - 15 brilliant tracks from the Bella Union Label', my brother had a copy, it was one of those Uncut Magazine compilations, this one however was something special, each and every track on this mixtape seemed to have been carefully & thoughtfully curated and I remember being blown away by what I heard, the voices, sounds and textures, one song after the other, artist after artist, so blown away in fact that I had this sense we were entering into a new 'golden age' of music. The compilation featured and introduced me to the likes of Fleet Foxes, Midlake, Explosions in the Sky, Andrew Bird, Vetiver, Beach House to name a few, and since then I had filled my cup with M Ward, John Grant and Father John Misty, artists who I took an immediate liking to.

Little did my 23 year old self back then know that someday I would be joining that very family of incredible artists, and it gives me the greatest pleasure to announce that I've officially signed with Bella Union, and I couldn't be happier to have found the perfect home and family for my work. It is indeed a truly beautiful union and I can only look forward to the journey ahead!

Bella Union will be releasing all three of my previous solo records in the form of limited edition vinyl pressings through their new imprint Private Pressings which will be consecutively released in readiness for the incoming 4th full length album which is well underway!

My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to a wonderful human being and friend, the immensely talented Simon Raymonde, and the Bella Union family for taking in this small town South African boy.

Thank you to each and every one of you who have supported and shared in this journey with me from the beginning, may the music continue to reach and touch even more hearts!

Thanks to my beautiful supportive, creative family for sharing the gift of life with me, I am so grateful to have you all by my side.

For now, head on over to Bella Union and get yourself the limited red vinyl edition of 'A Child's Chant for the New Millennium' pressed by DeepGrooves, the greenest vinyl pressing plant in the world!

Child's Chant for the New Millennium Limited Red Vinyl Edition Out Now on Bella Union

Limited Red Vinyl Edition Out Now on Bella Union
“Absolutely thrilled to be putting out ‘A Child’s Chant for the New Millennium’ with Bella Union! At the end of 2019 through early 2020 I buried myself amongst instruments, wires, synths, guitars and whatever I could get my hands on, I lost myself in the layering of textures, sounds and vocal overtones, armed with the scribbles of a couple new songs, ‘A Child’s Chant’ was born”.

Hailing from the South-east coast of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa, Wren Hinds grew up with a musician for a father and a landscape painter for a mother. As a kid, watching h
is dad recording and overdubbing inspired Wren to keep a tape recorder with him, recording whatever and wherever he could.

The first of the three retroactive releases will be “A Child’s Chant For The New Millennium”.

"I wanted to start releasing some brand new artists via our new imprint Private Pressing, a limited vinyl-only eco-friendly edition, working with DeepGrooves who claim to be 'the world's greenest pressing plant'. These pressings will be limited to 200-300 copies and only available through the artists' Bandcamp pages, our own vinyl and online store". - Simon Raymonde (Bella Union)

Wren Hinds brought fresh thematic cogency to his third album, recorded in early 2020. The linking matter is his unerring ability to apply himself to each new situation, in this case a longing for connection – to humanity, nature – in a world tilted towards digital disconnection. While the lockdowns intensified the album’s dystopian fears, the beauty and artistry in Wren’s songcraft counterpoint the shadows eloquently. The title-track laments “digital modification” over gamelan-ish flutters across six delicate minutes. All spectral voices and pining, ‘Sign of Life’ yearns for “some act of human kindness” to a wind-caressed cowboy lollop. ‘The Pearl’ longs for blissful quietude, while ‘Wrenbird’ evokes Sam Beam at his dreamiest. ‘River’s Song’ adds soft, sure layers of accordion and guitar, before ‘The Path’ marshals misty harmonies and finger-picked guitar for a gentle declaration of resistance. “Bang your freedom drum,” sings Wren, mapping out a singular path with understated assurance.

Digital Mobility Fund 2022 Live Filmed Performance in Cape Town

South African Singer songwriter and producer, Wren Hinds will embark on a one-night only live filmed performance of his new show, 'A Child's Chant for the New Millennium'. The performance takes place on Saturday 9th April in the exquisite Sun Temple on the mountainside of the Southern Peninsula in Cape Town, South Africa and will feature songs from all three of the songwriter's acclaimed solo albums. The initiative is supported by ConcertsSA, The Norwegian Embassy, SAMRO and IKS Cultural Consulting as part of the Digital Mobility Fund #DMF2022.

In 2021, Wren Hinds’ solo work caught the attention of British record label Bella Union (Fleet Foxes, M.Ward, Father John Misty, Beach House) and subsequently, the UK label has signed a record deal with the South African songwriter which will encompass the release of all three backlog albums as well as future works by Hinds to be released on the Bella Union label.

Set between the Indian ocean and the rolling hills of KwaZulu-Natal, Hinds was raised in an artistic household and was greatly influenced by the works of his artist mother, his father and elder brothers who all happen to be musicians, as well as his uncle, a prolific poet and lyricist. It was in this environment that his inclination to music was enhanced and encouraged by his fathers song writing and recording in the ‘family studio’. The beauty and tranquillity of these surrounds combined with a familial synergy were to become an emblematic factor in the creative evolution of Wren Hinds.

This is a filmed event and the audience will be part of the production which will premier on the 14th May 2022.

Faber Alt

I am overjoyed to announce the recent signing of a full publishing deal with London based
Faber Alt publishing- a division of Faber Music. Check out the full story here

“Wren Hinds is an incredibly talented songwriter who has the rare ability to write excellently crafted songs that already feel like established classics. As soon as we heard his music, we knew he was a perfect fit for Faber Alt. and it’s an absolute pleasure to welcome him to our roster.” - Lucy Holliday (Head of A&R, Faber Alt)

Hailing from the small town of Ramsgate along the tropical east coast of South Africa, singer songwriter and producer, Wren Hinds delivers a lush, textured and honest approach to crafting songs with a reflective lyrical sensibility that communicates deep profundity.

The story begins in 1850 where two brothers from London found themselves shipwrecked off the coast of South Africa en route to Australia, instead of pursuing their journey toward the south pacific, the brothers settled and married in South Africa and made the remarkable African landscape their home.

A few generations down the line, Wren’s father, Kevin Hinds begins his music career in Johannesburg in the 1960’s, first as a harmony duo with his brother, under the name The Hinds Brothers. Although this unity lasted only a few years there were remnants of their brief collaboration in the form of live recordings made and archived by David Marks, both in his lounge and at the South Africa Folk Festival. On an LP entitled ‘Cross Section’ the brothers were featured alongside South African greats such as Johnny Clegg, Mike Dickman and the Kitchen Bros.

In the 1970's, during some of South Africa’s most violent and tumultuous years, Kevin Hinds went on to record 5 seven singles for CBS and EMI Records and continued performing as a solo artist, back then, sadly, due to political upheaval, civil unrest and international sanctions, the South African music industry was very closed off from the rest of the world, and it wasn’t easy for a South African artist to get exposure internationally.

A generation later, from 2009, The Hinds Brothers ‘return’ in the form of Wren Hinds and his elder brother Aden Hinds- delivering close, haunting, brotherly harmonies in the tradition of the family bands of old, such as The Carter Family, The Stanley Brothers, The Everly Brothers and the Louvin Brothers (among some of their favourite records they’d listen to as children), and true to this tradition, this new incarnation of The Hinds Brothers continued to make a vibrant contribution to this genre. In 2012, The brothers went on to record and release their very first album, ‘Ocean of Milk’, which, after two years in the making, received a South African Music Award nomination for best adult contemporary album of 2014.

At around the same time, Wren formed a duo with ambient songstress and long time friend, Faye Oakes, and subsequently released two albums, ‘Volume One’ in 2013 and the self-titled ‘Faye and Wren’ in 2018.

From 2012 onwards, Wren Hinds had been building up a steady backlog of solo recordings which never saw the light of day until the first Bandcamp release in the summer of 2018 of ‘Tragedy Hill’, his debut full length solo album- a raw and intricate web of warm vocals, thoughtful lyrics and a simplistic layering of textures made up of the old family piano, an array of his favourite guitars and bowed strings, all recorded at his Durban studio. “Creating a song or a piece of music feels, to me, like the act of surrendering to the unravelling of the unknown, somewhat like painting with sound, it’s an honest and natural process, just witnessing how this creation evolves into the most unexpected beauty and sometimes, chaos.”

In March 2020, while the world slipped into turmoil and uncertainty, Hinds self released his second solo album, ‘A Thousand Hearts’, this time working closely with his uncle and lyricist, Keith Erasmus on two stand out tracks, ‘Sadness in the Wind’, and ‘A Thousand Hearts’. Hinds and Erasmus have developed a writing relationship in similar vein to the ‘Elton John, Bernie Taupin’ approach. ‘A Thousand Hearts’ is a journey of it’s own, with ten gorgeous compositions, again with the simple yet tastefully layered textures all backed by the strength of song writing which was ever so present in his debut solo album.

In September of 2020, Wren Hinds goes on to release his third solo album in the form of a seven track EP, ‘A Child’s Chant for the New Millennium’, a handful of songs recorded in his childhood home, highlighted by yet another noteworthy writing union with Keith Erasmus on the opening three tracks. ‘A Child’s Chant for the New Millennium’ is a title that speaks for itself, the haunting lyrical content tackles everything society is facing in a seemingly upside-down era.

In 2021, Wren Hinds’ solo work caught the attention of record producer and musician Simon Raymonde of Bella Union, and subsequently, the British label has signed a recording deal with the South African songwriter which will encompass the release of all three backlog albums in vinyl format as well as future works by Hinds to be released on the Bella Union label.

In a relatively short career, all the while flying under the radar with a rather low profile, Wren Hinds has proven to be a prolific songwriter, producer and composer, and an artist that is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Incantations

Almost halfway through 2021 and life seems to be steering me into some of the most amazing and unexpected places, guiding and pulling me into a world where a year ago, I would have never expected to find myself. I am not yet able to share or disclose any further information on the matter at hand just yet (Perhaps in the next few weeks I will be able to share some, and if not, all of the good news).

In April 2021, the Southern African Music Rights Organization offered funding for eligible artists to create an album of new works, I applied for the project and a few weeks later I got the go ahead to begin the project, I immediately knew that I wanted to create something completely different to my usual work as a singer-songwriter, and began the process of conceptualizing a truly South African instrumental, leaning on traditional 'zulu guitar' record, I also knew that I had to release this album under a different name, mostly as I don't really want someone to hear this record and forever more think that Wren Hinds is an instrumental maskandi guitarist, I'm not at all, but I did grow up in KwaZulu, which must've ingrained the sound of the landscape and the history of this land right into the very fibre of my being, it's almost as if I got the chance to channel some great and wise ancestor who simply used me to express the soundscapes within the record.

My friend Andre Swart, an immensely talented photographer out of Durban sent me the perfect shot for the album cover, a typical scene from the Transkei, a kid standing looking right at the camera outside his family's wattle and daub hut, overlooking the majestic landscape of the Kei. - I am truly grateful to Andre for always being so enthusiastic and keen on collaborating with his photographs, he is a gem of a human being and an eternal friend.

'Incantations' takes the listener on a journey through the   sounds of the 'African guitar' and follow's in the tradition of   great mentors and ancestors in the maskandi lineage such as   King of the Zulu Guitar, Madala Kunene. It is an album of   invocation, initiation and exploration through the healing and   naturally 'psychedelic' approach to music by our fore-bearers,   it is medicine music and it truly embodies the culture of   Southern Africa.

Incantations is available HERE.

A Child's Chant for the New Millennium

Between April and July I buried myself among my musical instruments, wires, synths, guitars and whatever I could get my hands on, I lost myself in the layering of textures and sounds and vocal overtones, and armed with the scribbles of a couple new extraordinary poems which my kinsman, uncle, co-writer and collaborator , Keith Erasmus, sent me to put to music, and now just in time for my birthday (which I have set as the official release day) This sweet little EP is due to grace the world in the month of Virgo, on the 4th Sep 2020 - The title is taken from the featured track 'A Child's Chant for the New Millennium' - a haunting and apocalyptic beauty of a poem by Keith.

I hope this collection of songs moves you, and fills you with emotion, as it has done for me.

The EP is available for Pre-Order exclusively on Bandcamp HERE

New Single 20.02.2020

I experience flying in my dreams a little too often, almost every vivid dream I have had, since childhood, I recall the ability to fly within the dream realm, It's become almost second nature in my dream life, the feeling is indescribable and exhiliarating. It has gotten me through, and out of some sticky and dangerous dream situations and it is something that fascinates me when I find myself awake in the real world.

My new single, 'Wrenbird' releases on the 20th Feb 2020.

It is a fantastical adventure as far as music goes and explores the endless boundaries of the dreamscape. It is an ode to my nightly experience of flying within dreams.

Thanks to South Sea Records and Swedish based label Amuse for backing this independent

Rebirth

The Rebirth.
.
.
2019 was a year of change, of high tides and tumultuous transformation, a year of simultaneous birth and death. It was a time of vulnerability and strength, it was a time of union and a time of immense growth.
We now hold our heads high to face the future and embrace the beauty of the moment.
.
Cape Town, we will descend upon your ragged peaks and your windswept beaches. In March we embark on this next chapter.
.
.
Thank you to loved ones for being the pillars of strength, love and support, and thank you to the universe for the ever changing journey.

SIGN OF LIFE - SINGLE RELEASE 06.12.2019

'Sign of Life' - single due for release 06.12.2019
Just a few months ago my uncle Keith recited a new poem he had been working on, a piece titled 'Sign of Life'- this was by no means a new thing for uncle Keith to do, he'd always had a way with words and was born with a writers heart, not just any writer, but almost teetering on the Shakespearean type of traditional English writing- according to my mom, he used to pace the room in their modest childhood home in Port Elizabeth- avidly reciting poetry that he had written.

Coming of age, he continued writing in his own time, between his photographic profession, his fantastical drawing style and even between his passion for the horses (the racing kind), by the time my brother and I came of age and actually started taking our music seriously, Keith would often recite a new poem or perhaps dig out a piece of dusty paper with an older one he had written, whether old or new, his writing has always held the perfect structure to be in balance with a song or piece of music, and Aden (my brother) and myself often took to translating ,without too much effort, the writings and poetry of Keith, into sweet music, where those poems would transform from words on a piece of paper into a whirling dance of energy through sound. My partner, Faye has also played a part in bringing some of these poems to life through her own beautiful compositions.

When a few months back, Keith recited 'Sign of Life' -a piece about a yearning, a longing for real human and spiritual connection within this new and somewhat impersonal digital age we find ourselves in, a sad and brutally honest look at where we have come, and where we may be going- I instantly felt the emotions stirring up, I recognized those feelings, something I had felt for so long, but could not find the words, I would often deal with these feelings through frustration, impatience and anger, and now my dear uncle, a man in his seventies, a man, like most of us, who has been submerged into a totally foreign world to the one he grew up in, was now reciting this heart-wrenching poem to me.

I quickly asked him to recite the poem again and without haste, scribbled the words down in my diary, a few days later after work-shopping some ideas, I went into my studio, set up a few microphones, and put the lyrics to a piece of music I had been working on, it took a good few hours of recording the textures and different instruments in the very house I had grown up in, in the tropical Eden of my hometown, a few days of mixing and listening and in no time 'Sign of Life' had become a little more than a poem, it had been given something more than words, and in a way, in itself became a real sign of life.

The thing about 'Sign of Life' is that It doesn't matter your age, your background, your culture or your world view. The words invoke so much emotion and deals with a subject that is constantly shoved into all of our faces on a daily basis in these times we are living in, the digital revolution, it serves as a reminder to look at ourselves, at our loved ones, at our community and the world around us, and somehow, someway, connect to the real source of life.

The release date for 'Sign of Life' is the 6th Dec 2019.
The single will be available on South Sea Records and all major digital platforms.

Sign of Life

"There's a signal and a siren that is running through my mind.
There's a gadget that connects me to all of humankind.

There's an entity that tells me everything I need to know,
and an artificial additive to everything they grow.

But I need a sign, some sign of life,
an act of human kindness.
Some shred of hope to make it right,
and love to cure the blindness.

There's a mode of entertainment to suit my every need,
and a logical explanation for every act of greed.

There's a recurring memory of the way it used to be,
when children had a childhood and a sense of history.

But I need a sign, some sign of life,
an act of human kindness.
Some shred of hope to make it right,
and love to cure the blindness."

My name is Wren Hinds, I'm  a musician, singer-songwriter and music producer from a small town on the east coast of South Africa.
I was born into a creative family with my father Kevin Hinds being a musician (signed to EMI and Gallo in the 70's during the turbulent years of South Africa's history) and my mother Diane Erasmus, a well known South African landscape artist. I'm so fortunate to share my musical heritage with my brother, Aden-  together we perform and create music as the acoustically driven singer-songwriter harmony group - The Hinds Brothers. Growing up in this wonderland, set between the Indian Ocean and the Sub-tropical forests and hills of Kwazulu, we grew up with a loving, brotherly and significantly, a musical connection, much enhanced by our father's records, song-writing and work in his small home recording studio. The beauty and tranquility of these surrounds were to become an emblematic factor in our creative evolution.

A distant echo of the Hinds Brothers musical evolution may be found in the career of our father who teamed up with his own brother Colin in the 1960's. Although this early incarnation lasted only a few years there were remnants of their brief collaboration in the form of live recordings made by Dave Marks of 3rd Ear Music, both in his lounge and at the South Africa Folk Festival. On an LP entitled "Cross Section" they were featured alongside Jonathan Clegg (Johnny Clegg), Mike Dickman and the Kitchen Bros.

In the 1970's our dad went on to record 5 seven singles for C.B.S. and EMI Records and continued performing as a solo artist, in venues and around the country and then with his band "Leatherbone", a 3 piece harmony group in the mode of Crosby Stills and Nash.

Working on creative projects especially with family, can be a truly special thing, and in this way I am so blessed to work with the most amazing and talented people who are so close to my heart. Fraternal and familial synergy is no new thing in music. The Carter Family, The Stanley Brothers, The Everly Brothers and the Louvin Brothers are among the many examples of brothers making beautiful music together; and true to this tradition, The Hinds Brothers continue to make a vibrant contribution to this genre.

I am also part of a very special and exciting project with my friend and 'soulmate', Faye Oakes, together we perform and release music through our band, Faye & Wren - this project brings me so much joy as it allows us to really explore the depths of ambient and experimental songwriting and music production, while of course harkening toward the traditional, simplistic and minimalist style of folk/country, although I know that sound always changes and transforms.

I love collaborating with my family and other artists and just surrendering to witness the unraveling and intertwining of the unknown right before my eyes (and ears), which I guess is why I became fascinated with the art of recording music and layering textures of sound and just not knowing what one might end up with, somewhat like painting with sound, which to me is a very honest and natural process, just letting go and being yourself, and seeing how a song, or piece of art can evolve into an unexpected beauty.
